On Trek to Nangi

Two Days to Nangi

Another morning bus ride to Goleshwor where we had a quick lunch and met our porters. We would hike straight up for 4 hours to Baskharka for our home stay.  This small village build a community dining hall where we ate dinner and breakfast.  But no lodge here, so we were split up in to small groups and spread out through the village for our good night's sleep in the homes of villagers.

Goleshwor, and we are off!

The red lines are the trails.  We started over on the left and crossed the river (the blue line)  to start our trek.

Beautiful cobble stone paths.

Corn harvest time.

These baskets are twice plus our weight.  Not sure how the porters do it.

Terrace farming.

Our Home Stay

The next day we hiked for 7 hours, climbing 7200 feet.  It was an awesome day.  We climbed and climbed many perfectly laid slate steps, crossed bridges, walked through villages, watched a local basketball game and at 7:30 at night we finally arrived in Nangi.

Yes, that is the same river way down there.

Headlamps on and getting close to our destination.
